Painting Tips….You

  • BR Buildcare Solutions give assistance to paint on your own.
  • To paint a wall successfully, you must scrape sand, patch, and fill every hole, crack, dent, and surface imperfection.
  • Be smart to prime any time you paint and it is important to prime walls and ceiling whenever you're painting new drywall or painting over a dark colour. Primer first blocks stains from bleeding through. Second, it allows one-coat coverage for the paint. Third, it improves paint adhesion, which reduces blisters & peeling.
  • To hide the primed surface completely, like a Professional painters does you must tint the primer toward the finished colour by mixing a small amount of topcoat paint into the primer, which will enhances the ability of the topcoat too. We can also get paints that contain primers but it’s not effective as much as a dedicated primer.
  • Using Canvas drop cloth would prevent the paint spatters on floor and furniture. It has a long life due to its durability and rip-resistant feature. It’s more flexible to use, as it can be easily folded and absorbs paint drips, unlike plastic drop cloth, which become slippery when spattered with paint.
  • Always prefer a telescoping extension pole for your paint roller instead of a stepladder. We have various lengths, up to 18 feet long available in the market; however one that extends from 18 to 36 inches is a best choice and good enough to paint rooms with 8 to 9 foot tall ceilings. A plastic handle extension pole is too flexible and tough to handle while painting thus, it’s advised to buy one that has a nonslip grip and a rigid metal core.
  • If you have to clean and reuse the paintbrushes and roller sleeves for next day or within next few days, first brush or roll off the excess paint, then tightly wrap them in plastic food wrap. If required, double up the plastic to seal out any air, and then place the wrapped brushes and roller sleeves in the refrigerator to keep the paint from drying overnight and rendering your equipment unusable. The next day, simply remove the gear from cold storage 30 minutes prior to painting, and it'll be supple and ready for use.
